NanoPocket - Retronym

NanoPocket Co. LLC is an Indie game studio currently focused on modern-retro style games. We may only be a small team of four people, but each have large ambitions of bringing unique and enjoyable stories to life through our games. We are actively working on our first title, Retronym. We are steadily making progress and can't wait to share more with all of you!

Nick - Game Designer / Writer

Yo! The name's Nick! I like video games! A lot! Too much even! I've been working on Retronym since it's inception all the way back in 2015, when I was only 17 years old. Designing video games has been a dream of mine since I was a wee lad playing The Legend of Zelda over and over, every hour of the day. You'll notice a lot of inspiration from Zelda in Retronym. However, it wasn't until I played through the Super NES classic Earthbound for the first time that I knew this was it. This is what I wanted to do with my life. I yearn to tell stories and impact people in the way that these games have done for me. I hope you enjoy everything we've been creating together. It's an absolute pleasure to be able to bring this game to all of you, so thanks for checking it out!

Jake - Composer / Programmer

Hi. Thanks for checking out Retronym and taking some time to learn about the bozos behind Nano Pocket Co.! I've been on music and sound duty for Retronym since its inception but during the Covid pandemic I was suckered into teaching myself to code in Gamemaker. I have had quite the time figuring out the simplest of tasks in the programming world but it's an extremely fulfilling journey and I can't wait to see what we all cook up in the end. Composing a soundtrack for a video game has been a lifelong dream of mine and I couldn't be more psyched to make that a reality. I've been making music for over ten years now so it feels amazing to put those skills to the test. I hope you'll enjoy Retronym and the future of Nano Pocket!

Steve - Artist

I've been an artist for as long as I can remember! Growing up, I always loved drawing comics and cartoons, even considering becoming an animator at one point. As time passed, I became an actor and my focus shifted. I graduated from university in 2020, moving out to LA not long after to pursue my dream. Even though I went down a different path than I intended, I always longed to get back to my original art so working on the art and animation for Retronym has been so exciting! I hope my art acts as a window into the world we are creating, and you find it as fun as I felt when making it.

Dylan - Programmer / Web Developer

Hey, I'm Dylan! I spend almost all of my free time playing, and now making, video games. I love speedrunning and the speedrunning community. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64 have consumed an absolutely ridiculous amount of my life and I've cherished every second of it. Developing and programming a game we can call our own has been an amazing experience. Retronym has a special and permanent place in my heart, and I sincerely hope you enjoy the rich story, expressive characters, and fun game mechanics as much as we do.
